Neverness to Everness Tier List (2026): Best Characters and Team Compositions Ranked

Neverness to Everness Tier List (2026): Best Characters and Team Compositions Ranked

I’ve spent years jumping from one gacha RPG to another. Some keep me entertained for a week, others for a month, and only a handful make me want to log in every single day. Neverness to Everness surprised me in the best possible way. Instead of simply copying familiar formulas, Hotta Studio mixed supernatural storytelling, stylish urban exploration, fast-paced combat, and surprisingly deep team building into one package.

After spending countless hours experimenting with different squads, watching top-level gameplay, discussing strategies with other players, and testing dozens of Console layouts, I realized something important: the strongest character isn’t always the best character.

A powerful account comes from building a team where every Esper complements the others instead of simply stacking the highest damage numbers.

This guide reflects my own experience with the current meta while also considering what the community has discovered during the first months after launch.

S+ Tier — The Characters That Change Your Account

Neverness to Everness Tier List (2026): Best Characters and Team Compositions Ranked

Nanally

If someone asked me which limited character is worth saving for, Nanally would be my first answer.

She’s one of those rare DPS characters that feels powerful the moment you unlock her. Her combat rhythm is incredibly satisfying because nearly every attack leads into another devastating combo.

Once her Ultimate enters the rotation and the Underboss joins the battlefield, fights become almost effortless. Bosses melt, groups disappear instantly, and exploration becomes much smoother thanks to her mobility.

What impressed me most isn’t just her damage.

It’s how comfortable she feels to play.

Sakiri

Every successful team eventually needs someone who keeps everything together.

For me, that’s Sakiri.

She doesn’t demand much field time, yet she completely transforms how battles flow. Pulling enemies together, amplifying damage over time, boosting teammates, and setting up perfect rotations makes her feel valuable in almost every composition I’ve tried.

If your account already has a powerful damage dealer, Sakiri is usually the biggest upgrade you can make.

Hotori

Hotori was the biggest surprise for me.

At first glance she looks like another flexible support, but once you understand her copying mechanics, everything changes.

Duplicating key abilities opens completely different team possibilities, especially during longer encounters where cooldown management becomes important.

She’s one of those characters that gets stronger the more characters your account owns.

S Tier — Incredible Investments

Jiuyuan

Some players love clearing giant groups.

I love deleting bosses.

That’s exactly what Jiuyuan specializes in.

Her burst windows feel incredibly rewarding, especially when properly timed around enemy vulnerabilities. She isn’t quite as universally dominant as Nanally, but against single targets she’s among my favorite choices.

Baicang

Baicang rewards mechanical skill.

If you enjoy staying aggressive, constantly pressuring enemies and breaking shields before they can fight back, you’ll appreciate everything his kit offers.

He requires commitment and good positioning, but the payoff is worth it.

Daffodil

One thing I appreciate in action RPGs is smooth combat flow.

Daffodil delivers exactly that.

  • Jump in.
  • Unload abilities.
  • Trigger reactions.
  • Switch out.
  • Repeat.

She never overstays her welcome, making her one of the cleanest quickswap characters currently available.

Haniel

Support characters often become boring heal bots.

Haniel avoids that trap.

She keeps everyone alive while still contributing meaningful offensive buffs, making every rotation feel efficient instead of defensive.

Even after obtaining several premium characters, I still found myself returning to Haniel surprisingly often.

A Tier — Better Than Many People Think

Esper Zero

Free protagonists usually become obsolete quickly.

Thankfully, Neverness to Everness avoids that cliché.

Esper Zero remains useful thanks to the Console system and reliable elemental application.

For newer players especially, Zero deserves far more respect than many tier lists give.

Lacrimosa

Damage-over-time teams aren’t always flashy.

They’re simply effective.

Watching bosses slowly lose enormous chunks of health while you’re already preparing your next rotation feels incredibly satisfying.

Pair her with strong DoT support, and she easily competes with many higher-ranked damage dealers.

Chiz

Chiz teaches an important lesson.

Never blindly copy build guides.

Many players incorrectly focus on traditional critical builds when her kit rewards completely different scaling priorities.

Once properly built, she becomes much stronger than her reputation suggests.

Adler

Shields alone won’t define today’s meta.

Fortunately, Adler brings much more than protection.

His additional DoT application creates fantastic synergy with several popular compositions, allowing your primary DPS to stay active longer.

Fadia

Fadia isn’t flashy.

She isn’t broken.

She’s simply useful.

Utility characters often become underrated because their impact isn’t immediately visible, yet resource optimization and reliable support make everyday gameplay noticeably smoother.

Hathor

If I judged Hathor only by combat performance, she’d probably rank slightly lower.

But Neverness to Everness isn’t only about fighting.

Daily efficiency matters.

Passive rewards matter.

Long-term account growth matters.

Those advantages slowly accumulate into significant value over months of play.

B & C Tier

Not every character can dominate the meta.

Mint remains an excellent introduction for beginners, but stronger options eventually replace her.

Aurelia and Skia both have interesting mechanics, although their strict positioning requirements make them harder to justify once your roster expands.

Then there’s Edgar.

I wanted to enjoy him.

Unfortunately, his lengthy animations and underwhelming damage consistently made him feel like the weakest investment on my account.

Unless future balance patches dramatically improve his kit, I’d recommend prioritizing almost anyone else.

My Favorite Team Compositions

1. Blossom Burst Team

  • Main DPS: Nanally
  • Sub DPS: Daffodil
  • Support: Hotori
  • Healer: Haniel

This squad feels incredibly fast.

Nanally stays on the field dealing continuous damage while Daffodil jumps in for explosive bursts. Hotori extends your strongest abilities, and Haniel keeps everyone healthy without interrupting the pace.

It’s my favorite setup for general exploration and difficult story content.

2. Endless DoT Composition

  • Main DPS: Lacrimosa
  • Support: Sakiri
  • Enabler: Adler
  • Flex: Baicang or Fadia

This team plays very differently.

Instead of relying on huge critical hits, enemies slowly collapse under constant status effects while your supports continuously refresh debuffs.

Against durable bosses, the sustained pressure feels amazing.

Which Free S-Class Should You Pick?

Many new players ask the same question.

My answer depends entirely on your roster.

CharacterRecommended ForMy Opinion
SakiriPlayers who already own NanallyThe safest long-term investment.
JiuyuanAnyone missing a strong DPSFantastic boss killer with excellent scaling.
HathorCasual playersIncredible value over months of progression.

Avoid choosing based only on rarity.

Think about what your account currently lacks.

A balanced roster will almost always outperform a collection of random high-tier characters.

Final Thoughts

Neverness to Everness has already become one of my favorite modern gacha RPGs because every character feels designed with purpose rather than simply filling another banner.

The current meta naturally favors heavy damage and aggressive playstyles, but smart team building is still the real difference between average players and experienced ones.

If I had to recommend only three characters for building a competitive account today, my choices would be:

  • Nanally for overwhelming carry potential.
  • Sakiri for universal support value.
  • Haniel for consistent survivability and offensive utility.

Of course, future updates will almost certainly introduce new Espers capable of reshaping the entire meta. That’s one of the reasons I’m excited to keep playing. Discovering fresh strategies, experimenting with new Console layouts, and testing unexpected team combinations is exactly what keeps Neverness to Everness feeling fresh every time I log in.

For now, though, these rankings reflect the squads that have given me the most success—and, more importantly, the most fun.
