Last Pirates Die Together Xbox Series X Release Date and Latest Rumors

Last Pirates Die Together Xbox Series X Release Date and Latest Rumors

If you have spent enough time with multiplayer horror games, you already know the formula that can turn a completely ridiculous idea into an unforgettable night with friends. Give four players a dangerous environment, throw in some monsters, add physics that occasionally seem determined to ruin everyone’s plans, and suddenly you have the perfect recipe for screaming at your friends at 2 a.m. Last Pirates: Die Together looks like it was built specifically around that idea.

RetroStyle Games is bringing its chaotic pirate horror game to PC through Steam Early Access on August 18, 2026. The obvious question for Xbox players is whether they will eventually get their own version. There is currently no confirmed Last Pirates: Die Together Xbox Series X release date, but the developer has already indicated that additional platforms are being considered.

After seeing what the game is trying to do, I can understand why Xbox owners are already asking about a console version. This isn’t another serious pirate adventure where you spend half your evening sailing between islands. It is a multiplayer nightmare where your crew can be wiped out by a monster one second and accidentally throw a treasure chest off a cliff the next.

Is Last Pirates Die Together Coming to PS5? Release Date and Console Rumors

Last Pirates: Die Together Is Built for Multiplayer Chaos

The basic premise sounds simple enough. You and up to three other players become strange-looking pirates working under a demanding captain who wants one thing above everything else: valuable treasure.

Your crew travels to cursed islands, searches abandoned locations, breaks through obstacles, grabs whatever loot you can find, and attempts to bring everything back to your ship. The catch is that these islands are absolutely not safe.

There are monsters, traps, supernatural threats and environmental hazards waiting for players who get careless. Losing your entire crew can mean losing the rewards from the expedition, which gives every treasure run a nice little layer of pressure.

What makes the whole thing considerably stranger is the way the pirates move.

Your characters have ridiculously long, flexible arms that can be used to interact with the environment. You can reach objects that would normally be inaccessible, drag things around, manipulate obstacles and even use your strange limbs to escape dangerous situations.

It sounds stupid.

That’s exactly why I think it works.

The best multiplayer games often create situations that developers couldn’t possibly script. One player spots a treasure chest, another tries to help, somebody gets in the way, the chest goes flying and suddenly everyone is laughing while a monster charges toward them. That kind of situation is difficult to manufacture deliberately, but physics-heavy multiplayer games have become extremely good at creating it naturally.

The Stretchy Arms Could Become the Game’s Secret Weapon

The physics system is probably the feature I’ll be watching most closely once the Early Access version arrives.

A lot of co-op horror games depend heavily on voice chat and enemy encounters to create memorable moments. Last Pirates: Die Together adds physical comedy to the formula, which could give it a much longer lifespan if the mechanics are reliable.

Imagine trying to carry an expensive treasure item across a narrow bridge while three teammates are panicking behind you. Now imagine one of those teammates stretching an arm toward you, grabbing the same object and accidentally pulling it in the opposite direction.

That’s the kind of situation I want from a game like this.

The important part is that the physics need to feel unpredictable without becoming frustrating. There is a fine line between ‘we can’t stop laughing’ and ‘this game just ruined another run because the controls are garbage.’ Early Access gives RetroStyle Games plenty of room to find that balance.

Don’t Let the Comedy Fool You — There Is Real Horror Here

The goofy pirate designs might make Last Pirates: Die Together look like a pure comedy game, but the environments are designed to make players nervous.

The islands contain hostile creatures, supernatural enemies and traps capable of ending a run extremely quickly. Players have to explore carefully, communicate with their teammates and decide when it is worth pushing deeper into an area for better loot.

That risk-versus-reward structure is important.

You can keep searching for another chest, but every extra minute on the island increases the chance that something goes horribly wrong. Split from your friends and you become an easy target. Make too much noise and you may attract something that you absolutely did not want to meet.

Proximity voice chat should make these encounters even more entertaining. Hearing your friend scream from somewhere in the darkness while you have no idea what just attacked them is exactly the kind of multiplayer horror moment that sticks in your memory.

And then there are the traps.

Ancient mechanisms, hidden hazards and brutal devices such as guillotines can turn careless exploration into an instant disaster. The combination of serious danger and ridiculous character physics gives the game a very different personality from conventional horror titles.

When Could Last Pirates: Die Together Come to Xbox Series X?

This is where things get a little less exciting for console players.

There is no official Xbox Series X release date at the moment. The confirmed launch is the Steam Early Access release on August 18, 2026, with the initial development focus remaining on PC.

That doesn’t mean an Xbox version is off the table.

The developers have discussed exploring additional platforms after the PC launch, and the current plan gives the game an opportunity to mature through Early Access before the team commits to a broader release. That’s a sensible approach for a multiplayer game that relies so heavily on physics, networking and unpredictable interactions between several players.

The developers have also suggested that the Early Access period could last around six months. If that schedule holds, the full release would potentially arrive around early 2027.

That creates a reasonable window for a possible console launch.

Xbox Series X/SNot Officially DatedPotentially 2027

Nintendo PlatformsNot Officially DatedTo Be Announced

I would not treat early 2027 as a confirmed Xbox release date, though. It is a projection based on the planned Early Access period and the developer’s comments about looking at other platforms. Until RetroStyle Games actually announces an Xbox port, anything more specific is speculation.

Why an Xbox Version Makes a Lot of Sense

From a gameplay perspective, Last Pirates: Die Together feels almost tailor-made for console multiplayer.

The game is designed around small groups of friends. It doesn’t require an enormous player count or complicated competitive systems. Four people jumping into a chaotic treasure hunt is exactly the sort of experience that works well with a controller and a console party.

There is also strong evidence that players are interested.

During a three-day open test in April 2026, the game reportedly attracted more than 16,000 unique players, with peak concurrent participation approaching 5,000. More than 58,000 launches were recorded during that short testing period.

For an unreleased indie multiplayer game, those numbers are encouraging.

The PC version also supports controllers, which is another positive sign for anyone waiting for an Xbox edition. Controller support doesn’t automatically mean that a console port is easy, but it does show that the developers aren’t designing the game around keyboard and mouse alone.

The Xbox Series X should also have more than enough hardware power for the game’s visual requirements. The bigger challenge will probably be network stability, certification, matchmaking and controller optimization, rather than raw graphical performance.

The Biggest Problem Could Be Keeping the Game Fresh

Here’s my biggest concern.

The core concept is hilarious, but comedy alone doesn’t carry a multiplayer game forever.

Once players have seen the same island layouts, fought the same enemies and learned the best way to collect treasure, the novelty of stretchy pirate arms could start to wear off. RetroStyle Games will need to keep adding new environments, monsters, traps, treasures and reasons to return.

That’s exactly why the Early Access period could be extremely important.

If the developers listen to players and build on the systems that generate the funniest stories, Last Pirates: Die Together could become one of those games that people keep reinstalling whenever their friends get together. If the content becomes repetitive, the physics stop being funny and the horror loses its teeth, the whole thing could run out of steam surprisingly quickly.

I’m cautiously optimistic, though.

The foundation is strong because the game doesn’t appear to depend on a complicated narrative to keep people playing. Its real content comes from what happens when four human beings attempt to cooperate in a hostile environment while controlling absurdly stretchy pirates.

Anyone who has played enough co-op games knows how quickly that can turn into complete disaster.

What Xbox Players Should Expect

If you’re waiting specifically for the Last Pirates: Die Together Xbox Series X release, patience is probably going to be required.

The smartest move for the developers is to establish the PC version first, fix the ugly bugs that inevitably appear during Early Access, improve the multiplayer infrastructure and figure out which gameplay systems actually keep players coming back. A console release after that process would make far more sense than rushing an Xbox version out the door alongside the first PC build.

My guess is that 2027 is the most realistic window to watch, assuming the Early Access development schedule stays close to the current plan.

I wouldn’t expect a surprise Xbox launch alongside the August 18, 2026 PC release. The game has too many moving parts for that to be the safest strategy, and the developers have already made it clear that PC is the immediate priority.

For now, Xbox players will have to watch from the sidelines while PC crews test just how many cursed islands they can loot before everything falls apart.

And honestly, that wait might be worth it.

Final Verdict

Last Pirates: Die Together has one of those premises that sounds ridiculous when you describe it but becomes strangely appealing once you see the gameplay. Four pirates with stretchy arms exploring haunted islands, stealing treasure and trying not to get murdered sounds like a perfect setup for the kind of multiplayer stories that are impossible to plan.

The Xbox Series X version remains unconfirmed, but the possibility is certainly there. With the PC Early Access launch scheduled for August 18, 2026 and an expected development period of roughly six months, early-to-mid 2027 feels like a reasonable target to keep in mind, not an official release date.

As someone who has played plenty of co-op horror games, I’m much more interested in this than another generic extraction shooter. Give me four friends, terrible communication, cursed treasure and physics that can betray everyone at the worst possible moment, and I’m interested.

The real test will be whether RetroStyle Games can turn that hilarious first impression into a multiplayer game with enough depth to keep crews coming back. If they pull it off, Xbox owners could have one seriously chaotic pirate adventure waiting for them in 2027.
